Research Interests

My research interests include 19th- and 20th-century Spanish-American literature. I am currently studying the works of the Peruvian writer Mercedes Cabello and contemporary Cuban culture and literature.

Oswaldo Voysest joined the faculty in 1997, and was promoted to associate professor in 2003. His research interests include 19th- and 20th-century Spanish-American literature. In retirement, he is looking to start his own coaching and consulting business to help companies and institutions use the humanities.

Professor Voysest earned a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, an M.A. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Hawaii, a diplôme d’Etude de la Civilisation Française from the Universite de Paris-Sorbonne, and a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literature from the University of California-Berkeley.
